ST RONANS CIDER
We all know in Australia, there’s a social condition called ‘Tall poppy syndrome’. Which basically means if you’re too fancy for the rest of us
you can get stuffed. St Ronans had a problem, their Method Traditionale cider was too good. Fermented like French Champagne and sold at a similar price, they wanted to reach a younger, cooler and, less snooty audience.
I worked with them to develop their positioning, strategy and packaging design on a new product. We focused on story telling, as a way to gain trust with their brand. Using a more crude illustration style, texture and honest messaging we were able to avoid common cider packaging tropes whilst still conveying a feeling of authenticity.
