BOMBIES AT HARBORD
Bombies is a live music and record bar that sits above the Harbord Beach Hotel in Freshwater, Sydney. The Harbord Hotel is an ode to Australian surfing, being one of the first spots to kick off this new sport in the 70’s. Bombies kept this theme but with a sonic twist. The brief was to create a brand for this new spot that feels like an instant classic, referencing the Harbord masterbrand but not replicating it to build an identity that gave FOMO to anyone that hasn’t been there to experience it.
The creative direction we developed for the branding was simple, with live music playing across the road from the ocean we couldn’t go past ‘waves’ as a concept. Using both sound & ocean waves as a jumpoff point we executed this concept across all touchpoints and brand elements while infusing a sun-drenched, 60’s surf aesthetic to fit the hotel’s current theme.
